Adult Services Branch: Grantsville 102 Parkside Drive Join us for a reading and book signing with author and publisher Lauren Carr. Her MacFaraday mysteries, which are set on Deep Creek Lake, have been receiving praise from fans and reviewers. Her latest mystery released on September 1, Dead on Ice also has been receiving praise from readers and book reviewers who have called it a page turner full of twists and turns. Dead on Ice is the first installment of Carr’s new series, Lovers in Crime, featuring Hancock County Prosecuting Attorney Joshua Thornton and Pennsylvania State Police homicide detective Cameron Gates. This mystery has made the top one-hundred in sales on Amazon under police procedurals. Carr will have copies of her mysteries for sale. Details are available at this link.

Adult Services Branch: Oakland 6 N. Second St. Have you ever read a book and wondered, now where did that author come up with that idea? Join us for "Where Did that Story Come From? Story Ideas" by author and publisher Lauren Carr as she discusses the surprising stories behind some of the greatest ideas in successful books, the difference between a great story idea and a bad one, and how a writer can take the germ of an idea and turn it into a great book. Her mysteries will be available for sale at the book signing following this presentation. The event is free and open to the public.
