A children's program designed especially for babies and toddlers (children age three and under).  LapSit is a special program that incorporates singing, rhymes, stories, and other activities that will entertain and stimulate children’s language skills.  A parent or caregiver must stay with the child for the program.

Story Tails  3:30 PM - 4:30 PM  Children Services

This week we will have Maggie here with us for StoryTails: Children Reading to Dogs.  This drop-in program is designed to help children develop confidence in reading.  Each child reads to a dog for about 15 minutes with the dog's handler sitting nearby to give reading assistance if necessary.  All dogs are certified by Therapy Dogs International. At the end of the reading session, each child will receive a bookmark with a picture of the dog that they read to.  This program provides a great opportunity for kids who need to work on reading skills and would like the opportunity to read to an animal.

All home-schooled children and teens are invited to participate in programs and activities at the Accident library on the third Thursday of the month, September through May.  This April, however, we are having it a week later, on the 4th Thursday, instead, because of when the DAR trunk is available.  Also, we need to start and finish 15 minutes earlier than usual.  Please note that we will start at 12:45 and end at 1:45.

On April 24th, Sherry Georg will give a history lesson, using items from a DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) trunk. Please call, e-mail, or sign up in person at the library so we know how many to expect. :-)
