Story Tails  3:30 PM - 4:30 PM  Children Services
Branch: Accident Accident Branch Library
                  StoryTails: Children Reading to Dogs. 
This drop-in program is designed to help children develop confidence in reading.  Each child reads to a dog for about 15 minutes with the dog's handler sitting nearby to give reading assistance if necessary.  All dogs are certified by Therapy Dogs International. At the end of the reading session, each child will receive a bookmark with a picture of the dog that they read to.  This program provides a great opportunity for kids who need to work on reading skills and would like the opportunity to read to an animal.

HomeSchoolers @ the Library typically meets on the first Friday of the month September- November and January- May. Our volunteer presenters offer a wide variety of enrichment programs for home school children and their families.

Today's program is “Trains”. Join us to learn about the B&O Railroad and train safety. Our presenters, Carl and Sue Gray will provide model trains and railroad tools for the children to explore. The program will also include a virtual reality field trip through Google Expeditions.

Join us for “Yoga and Mindfulness” at the Oakland Library on Monday, September 25, from Noon to 1:30 p.m. with yoga instructor Sue McQuaid, who has been certified for 10 years in both Hatha and Adaptive Yoga. She currently teaches at Flowery Vale on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Registration is mandatory for this free program and spaces are limited to 20 due to the size of the room.
