Community Conversations @ Your Library

As part of its strategic planning process, the Ruth Enlow Library of Garrett County will hold community conversations over the next couple months at all branches. The purpose of these conversations is to gather input from members of the community about the library’s role in their lives. “It’s a chance to help shape our future,” emphasizes Director Thomas Vose, “and to let us know what kind of community you want. You can have your voice heard in a safe, friendly environment, and we will gain valuable feedback for our path ahead.”

Vose will conduct all community conversations based on the methodology developed by the Harwood lnstitute for Public lnnovation, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that teaches, coaches, and inspires individuals and organizations to solve pressing problems and change how communities work together. With a proven 25-year track record, the institute’s approach to change – the Harwood practice – has spread to thousands of communities across the U.S. and to groups in more than 40 countries.

Community conversations at local libraries are scheduled as follows. All discussions take place from 6 – 7:30 p.m. and include refreshments.

Accident Library: Wednesdays on 11/1, 11/29, and 12/13
Friendsville Library: Mondays on 11/6, 11/27, and 12/4
